thanks for the kind words! I have updated the article to clarify the use of the relative path with regards to the siteFolder, but unless i’m mistaken this doesn’t apply to the fontPath.

The fontPath variable has a different “working directory” than the siteFolder and shouldn’t affect the building of your project (worst case the fonts wouldn’t show, but your files would still be built). The sitesFolder does indeed affect the building of the project so thanks for clarifying that; hopefully, this might help other people in the future as well.
